Frew Development Group was the project and construction manager for the City of Cedar Rapids Convention Complex. Services included acquisition of 57,000sf of surrounding property, tenant relocation, demolition of all structures, right-of-way acquisition, construction of 131,752sf of new convention center space and renovations to the U.S. Cellular Center. The complex was completed in June of 2013, and became the second largest convention complex in the State of Iowa. The convention complex facility provides a new exhibit hall, ballroom, and meeting space, while providing a direct connection to the renovated 267 room DoubleTree by Hilton convention complex hotel and its 8,466sf of meeting space and joint management by Hilton Worldwide. The renovated U.S. Cellular Center provides 8,600 seats for a broad variety of entertainment.
